A massage therapist must receive consent to treat you, whether you are fully clothed or partially covered with sheets or blankets. Your privacy will be respected at all times and at anytime if you feel uncomfortable you may withdraw your consent. I will use a variety of specialized techniques either over the skin, or clothes throughout the massage therapy treatment and will work within your pain tolerance. If I need to use a specific technique that I know will be particularly painful, I will discuss this with you before application. You may stop or decline the technique from being used. You may experience some soreness 24-48 hours after your massage therapy treatment, which is normal and expected. An epsolm salt bath can reduce post treatment soreness. Check out the Self Care tab to the left for more information.
Massage therapy is not covered by OHIP. It is however often covered under many private insurance companies as part of their extended health care plan. These may either be provided by employers or packages you can purchase personally.
