WHAT IS A REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPIST (RMT)
A Registered Massage Therapist is an individual who has completed the following:
1) A compentency-based massage therapy program at an educational institute recognized by the Governement of Ontario, studying subjects including anatomy & physiology, physical assessment, pathology, treatments of a variety of conditions, neurology and ethics.
2) Successfully completed the qualifying examination and have been registered by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO).
3) Uphold their registration by taking part in continuing education, which is required as a part of the Quality Assurance Program that assists RMT's to provide a high level of professional standards and client care.
ONLY individuals that have completed these necessary requirements are entitled to use the RMT designation.
